Ocean Victory: Ship Details and Overview

Photo of Ocean Victory

Ocean Victory is a modern expedition vessel purpose-built for polar cruising, combining rugged capability with contemporary comfort and generous guest spaces.

Launched in early 2021 and built around an X-BOW® hull, the ship emphasises a smooth ride through heavy seas while offering strong ice-class reinforcement for Antarctic conditions. The public areas and cabins are designed with ocean views top-of-mind: observation lounges, multiple indoor and outdoor viewing points, and most cabins with private balconies bring the landscape in close.

Ocean Victory’s layout prioritises expedition functionality — a large, well-equipped mudroom and multiple Zodiac embarkation points streamline landings and shore operations — while also providing wellness facilities, lecture and presentation spaces for expert briefings, and social dining areas.

With capacity for 189 guests and an experienced expedition team, the vessel serves a wide range of travellers from solo explorers to families, offering adventurous optional activities (kayaking, camping, photography excursions) alongside comfortable cabins, suites and accessible single-occupancy rooms.

The ship balances modern environmental and efficiency features with the safety and operational redundancy needed for remote polar voyages, making it a capable platform for immersive Antarctic exploration.

On-Board Facilities

Public Area Facilities

Ocean Victory’s public spaces are arranged to maximise learning, socialising and observation while on expedition.

The heart of onboard programming is the lecture theatre and presentation lounge where the expedition team delivers daily briefings, wildlife talks and multimedia photo workshops.

Large panoramic observation lounges provide comfortable seating and 180-degree views; expansive windows and upper-deck vantage points are the primary places to spot whales, penguins and dramatic ice walls.

Multiple dining venues offer flexible seating, from formal multi-course meals to casual buffet and outdoor dining on deck; menus typically focus on high-quality, international cuisine tuned to expedition needs.

Wellness features include a gym, spa and hot tubs/jacuzzi on deck for cold-water relaxation with a view.

A well-stocked boutique and a small library/reading room support quieter moments, while a professional medical clinic and accessible passenger services ensure safety and comfort throughout the voyage. Mudrooms and Zodiac embarkation zones are thoughtfully positioned to keep shore operations efficient and dry.

Cabin Facilities

Cabins aboard Ocean Victory are configured to prioritise ocean views and practical expedition storage.Nearly all staterooms are outside-facing; the majority include private step-out balconies or French balconies so guests can enjoy uninterrupted views from their rooms.

En-suite bathrooms with showers are standard across categories; larger suites and some junior suites include more spacious bathrooms and separate seating areas.

Rooms come equipped with climate control, several 230 V outlets and USB ports, a flatscreen television, a safe, a desk and a small refrigerator in selected categories. Bathrobes, slippers and a basic toiletries set (shampoo, body wash, lotion) are provided. Cabins adjacent to the mudroom have quick access to Zodiac boarding while upper-deck suites offer quieter, panoramic vantage points.

Storage solutions and drying racks for expedition clothing are integrated into the design to make transitions between wet gear and cabin comfort seamless. Wi-Fi is available shipwide though bandwidth is limited in polar waters
